The Dupe Diaries has tended to focus on make-up and beauty since we launched in July, but we’ve also occasionally dabbled in fashion posts on Facebook and Instagram. As well as burning holes in our pockets with make-up purchases, it just so happens that we both spend far too much on clothes, shoes and accessories too…#WINNING!
So we’ve decided to kick off our foray into fashion with a Trend Series, where we’ll basically choose the trends we love for Autumn/Winter 2015, and show you our top picks! First up, we’re looking at bomber jackets.
These beauties have technically just stuck around from being the ‘It’ jacket of Spring/Summer, but are now popping up in lovely, rich, autumnal shades. Comfortable, effortless and the ideal cover-up for the, ahem, changeable Irish weather, there are SO many bombers to choose from in the shops! If you’re like me and worried you’re not in any way cool enough to pull one off…fear not – they are surprisingly wearable! Perfect to throw on with jeans or pair with a LBD…it’s no wonder Kylie Jenner is a fan!
Dark Red Embellished Bomber Jacket, (River Island, €75)
This is the one I went for, and I am head over heels in love with it! The embellishment makes it a little more glam, the burgundy colour is bang on trend and the fit is really flattering. The proof of how gorgeous this jacket is? Even my Dad, who is usually baffled by my fashion choices (apparently my tailored waistcoat makes me look like a snooker player) complimented me on this one! It’s the BOMB…see what I did there?!
2. Poppy Garden Print Bomber (Topshop, around €75)
The pattern on this is beautiful; a gorgeous girly good choice for anyone who doesn’t want to go for the grungey look that is often associated with the bomber jacket! You could throw this on with the plainest outfit, and it would make it look WOW!
3. Animal Print Bomber Jacket (Marks & Spencer, €80)
Marks and Spencer’s isn’t necessarily the first port of call to pick up the latest trend, but this jacket is really cool. The print and cut make it super fashionable, but it would still look very polished with skinnies and black Chelsea boots.
4. Clara MA1 Bomber Jacket in Khaki (Boohoo, €41)
For anyone who wants a more grungey style like Kylie Jenner, this is your jacket! Boohoo have a fantastic range (as usual, they have loads of choice when it comes to the latest trends) and it’s a good choice for those on a budget!
5. Jersey Stripe Bomber Jacket (ASOS, €34.56)
If you want something a little lighter, this jersey option from ASOS is ideal. It’d be a nice alternative to a cardigan, or as an evening cover-up if you’re lucky enough to be headed off for some winter sun!
6. Ponte Bomber Jacket (Missguided, €35)
For anyone who wants to keep it really pared back and basic, this is the jacket for you! It will go with everything, and look really polished and understated. Plus, it’s a bargain at €35!
