Getting the Supermodel Glow

We’ve looked at prepping for the perfect tan, and our ultimate tans, so for the final part of our tan series, we’ve handpicked our favourite products for making the most of your fake tan and perfecting that glow!

LONDON, ENGLAND - DECEMBER 02: Victoria's Secret models (L-R) Lily Aldridge, Candice Swanepoel, Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima walks the runway during finale of the 2014 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show at Earl's Court exhibition centre on December 2, 2014 in London, England. While the getting golden part down is pretty easy with a good tan, we’re all envious of that glowy, dewy and bronzed ‘Victoria’s Secret Angel’ skin. While we can’t guarantee you the body, we can help you get that gorgeous luminous look for your own skin! The good news is that these products actually slim and elongate your body, because they draw your eye to certain parts…it’s basically highlighting for your body #WINNING!

This Coconut Shimmer Body Butter from The Body Shop (€19.99) has become a must-have for nights out and holidays. It gives a beautiful luminous look to the skin without it looking too shiny or glittery, and smells lovely. A little bit goes a long way, and it looks amazing with a golden tan, particularly on collarbones, shoulders and down the center of your legs. It’s actually a trick that a lot of supermodels use to make their impossibly long and skinny legs look even longer and slimmer…sure if it’s good enough for Cara, Karlie and co.!

Again from The Body Shop, this Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil (€25.95) gives a lovely dewy look to skin, with a little more sparkle than the body butter. Dry oil is fantastic on skin to make it look really healthy, and again, it helps highlight the bits you want to elongate and slim down. This is actually a brilliant dupe for the supermodel favourite Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse  Gold Shimmer Oil (€42, Cloud 10), which is more pricey but does last AGES, as you only need a tiny drop.

Cocoa Brown had some very exciting news a few days ago, when Marissa Carter announced that they’ll be launching their take on the shimmering dry oil in September, called Golden Goddess. I’m very excited to try this, as it’s sure to be a budget-friendly version of the oils mentioned above!

Lastly, I picked up this little gem (Beautiful Bronze Glowstick in Sunkissed) in Penneys a few months ago for €3, and it’s great for rubbing down the front of my legs and over my collarbones if I’m in too much of a rush to be arsing around with oils and butters. I’ve been lusting after the Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Body (€59, Brown Thomas) for months, but on my budget, I’ll be sticking with my Penneys dupe for now!

I mentioned in my last tan post that oils break down tan quicker and can make it fade a little patchy, so bear that in mind, and use these sparingly where you can to prolong your tan!
